Use the following parameters to set up a text title, slogan, mission statement and image that will appear in the template header.

Header Title/Text Element 1

1.  Activate element:  Click on Yes to make this Header Title/Text Element active.

2.  Element Type:  Choose one of the following title formats, from the drop down menu.

Auto Title will display the name of the website that was set up, upon installation of Joomla 1.5.  Example:  Joe's Widgets  You may choose Auto Title (Shadow) or Auto Title (No Shadow).

or

Choose Custom Text (Shadow) or Custom Text (No Shadow). This option will allow you to type whatever text you want to display, as the website's title, in the header.

3.  Custom Text:  Type the title or slogan into this field that will appear in the header.

4.  Title/Text URL:  To link the title, such as the Name of the website to the front page of the website, enter the URL for the front page of the website. You may also enter index.php instead of the whole URL as this usually links to the front page of the website. This is a good way to help people easily navigate back to the website's home page. If you don't want to use this feature then leave this field blank.

5.  The Font Family, Font Style, Font Color and Font Size features work with both the auto title and custom title features. Choose which options you wish to use from the Font Family, Font Style and Font Size drop down menus and by entering a color number in the Font Color # field.

6.  The Shadow Color # applies to the shadows that will appear on the Auto Title (Shadow) and the Custom Title (Shadow) options.

7.  Stack Order:  This feature allows you to add more than one title/text element and control the position of the elements on the header.  By utilizing the Header Title/Text Element 1, Header Title/Text Element 2 and Header Title/Text Element 3 you can add up to three different text titles, slogans, mission statements, etc. To position the different text elements choose the appropriate Stack Order number from the drop down menu, keeping in mind that higher stack order numbers will make the text element appear before or above a lower number element, on the header.

8.  Distance From Top (x):  This parameter allows you to position the text element, up or down, on the header. A lower number will move the text up and a higher number will move the text down.  This parameter is based on pixels but do not put px in the field.

9.  Distance From Left (y): This parameter allows you to position the text element, right or left, on the header. A lower number will move the text to the left and a higher number will move the text to the right. This parameter is based on pixels but do not put px in the field.

You may create and set up to three different text elements by setting up the Header Title/Text Element 1, Header Title/Text Element 2 and Header Title/Text Element 3.

Header Image Element 1 and/or Header Image Element 2

Upload your image to the Media Manager at the root level or into a directory (new or existing folder).

1.  Activate Element:  Click on the Yes radio button.

2.  Image Path:  Enter the name of the image (yourimage.png) if it is stored at the root level. If you store it in a directory then take note of the directories name and enter it with the image name. Example stories/yourimage.png

3.  Image Url:  You may add a link to the image by entering the Url in this field. To link the image, such as the Name of the website to the front page of the website, enter the URL for the front page of the website. You may also enter index.php instead of the whole URL as this usually links to the front page of the website. This is a good way to help people easily navigate back to the website's home page. If you don't want to use this feature then leave this field blank.

4.  Stack Order:  This feature allows you to add more than one image and/or title/text element and control the position of the images and/or text on the header.  By utilizing the Header Image Element 1 and Header Image Element 2 parameters you can add up to two images to the header. You can also combine them with the Header Title/Text Element 1, Header Title/Text Element 2 and Header Title/Text Element 3 to add up to a total of two images and three text elements. All five is probably more than you will need but allows for flexibility. To position an image choose the appropriate Stack Order number from the drop down menu, keeping in mind that higher stack order numbers will make the image and/or text element appear before or above a lower number element, on the header.

5.  Distance From Top (x):  This parameter allows you to position the image, up or down, on the header. A lower number will move the image up and a higher number will move the image down.  This parameter is based on pixels but do not put px in the field.

6.  Distance From Left (y): This parameter allows you to position the image, right or left, on the header. A lower number will move the image to the left and a higher number will move the image to the right. This parameter is based on pixels but do not put px in the field.
