There are three extensions to download and install to make your Purple Iris Design template work properly. You must download and install the Template, PIDP Styles Library Plugin and the Iris Menu Module.

Template Installation

To install the template onto your Joomla 1.5 website:

  3. Once logged into the administrator section of your web site go to the Extensions drop down menu, located along the top of the administrator interface and select Install/Uninstall from the resulting drop down.
  4. The Extension Manager window will open. Click on the Install tab, if it is not already selected. Click once on the Browse button located under the Upload Package File section. Browse to the location of the product folder you previously unarchived in step one. Once you have browsed to the template product folder select the archived template file located within and click open.
  5. Doing the previous will display the path and name of the template file to be installed, in the Package File:, field, located to the left of the Browse button. After visually verifying the Package File: field's information all you have to do to install your new template is click the Upload File & Install button located to the right of the Browse button.
  6. The final step to installing your template is to set it as your default template by going to the Extensions > Template Manager, within your site's administration section. Click on the Site tab in the Template Manager window. A list of all templates available for the website will be displayed. To make your new template the default template you will need to click the radio button adjacent to its name in the Template Name column. Then click the Default button located top right of the screen. The Default template will have a yellow star next to it in the Default column.
