If you're selling a product or service you need to get the word out to as many people as possible. Utilizing free online classified ads spread the word and reaches the customers in your demographic area.
Classified ads target customers in your geographical area to help reduce scams. Search for the category that best suits your products or services and then take a look at your competitor's ads. What items do they list, how do they list them, in detail or do they generalize, what contact information do they provide?

The other day our Internet connection went down. We discussed it for a
while, wondering what was wrong. Then I had a bright idea, let's call
the cable company and listen to the message to see if there was an
outage in our area.
So I turned to my computer, clicked on a
browser to look up the phone number for the cable company. What, no
Internet to look up the phone number, to find out why there is no
Internet. Duh!
Does anybody know how to use this big heavy book, I think it's called a phone book.

One of my most valuable free programs at work is my PDFLab. With it you
can take pdfs and break them up into new pdfs or merge several pdfs
into one. The interface is very visual and easy to follow. Great little
program.
